The project is an invitation to pay more attention to the sea itself. To discover and really see the Mediterranean Sea and all its culture. The project contains a poster and a series of invitation-postcards. On the poster you have 2 elements: the color that represents the sea and the names of the cities that are written in a special font. This is a font that we created, based on the excisting font Akkurat. It’s a stencil-font that you can use in a special way. It’s possible to laser-cut the words, so you can see through. That’s the base of this concept. To really see the sea, through the cities that surround it. We want this font to be the basis of a visual identity for this project. So by only the use of it, you can connect all the different applications together. See the Sea. In addition to an initial proposal that we thought the postcard invitations, we have created through the photographic studio of an advertising campaign in which type to see through the sea become “letters in the sea”, the names of the countries bordering the Mediterranean.
